The materials for the book included four different layers of content: Textual instructions, technical photographs of the stages in the casting process, additional non-descriptive photographs, and Illustrations of the process by the artist.

One of the challenges was to manage to appropriately define the different components in a way that would remain differentiated yet create a cohesive reading experience.
